Procedure Reminders

10 Days to go:

>You should have received a “Procedure Packet” with all the information needed to know how to prepare for your procedure.

>You will receive a call within a few days to confirm your appointment, update your medical information, including a list of your current medications, and answer any questions you may have regarding your prep instructions.

>If we do not contact you to obtain this information within a few days, please call our office at 252-757-3636 at your earliest convenience.

>    You are NOT required to have COVID-19 test, however if you have:

  • Tested positive for the virus within the last 3 months,
  • Been exposed to someone within the last few weeks who tested positive or,
  • You have any flu-like symptoms, i.e., fever, sinus/chest congestion, cough, headache, body aches, etc.,

You MUST call us immediately at 252-413-6260 or 252-757-3636 for further instructions as to how you need to proceed with your preparations.

 

7 Days to go:

> You will receive a call from our office to confirm your appointment, update your medical information, including a list of your current medications, and answer any questions you may have regarding your prep instructions.

> If you are not able to keep your appointment, or need to reschedule your appointment, please do so within 5 days before your procedure date to avoid a $400.00 “no-show” or insufficient cancellation” fee.

 

5 Days to go:

> Read all the information sheets enclosed in the packet

> Review the list of foods that you may need to avoid starting tomorrow., depending on the type of procedure you are scheduled for.

> If you take medications for diabetes, anticoagulants (blood thinners), or antiplatelet medications, make sure that you have received instructions on how to manage these medications in preparation for your procedure.

> If indicated, have all pre-procedure prescriptions filled at the pharmacy.

> Make arrangements for a driver to take you home after your procedure and inform them of our facility’s policies regarding drivers due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

> Confirm your financial responsibilities, i.e., co-pays, deductible requirements, etc.

> If you are not able to keep your appointment, or need to reschedule your appointment, please do so TODAY to avoid a $400.00 “no-show” or insufficient cancellation” fee.

 

3 Days to go:

> Review your prep instructions and if indicated:

o Note the solid food restrictions and/or any special instructions that you may need to start tomorrow.

 

2 Days to go:

> Thoroughly read your prep instructions for possible food restrictions or special preparation requirements that you may need to start today.

 

1 Day to Go:

> Thoroughly read your prep instructions for possible food restrictions or special preparation requirements that you may need to start or continue through today.

> IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER:

1. DO NOT EAT ANY SOLID TODAY!

2. DO NOT DRINK ANY LIQUIDS FOR 3 HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE!

3. You MUST wear a mask to enter our facility, even if you have been vaccinated. The vaccine does not provide 100% protection.

4. Bring you insurance card(s) with you and be prepared to pay any required insurance copays and/or deductibles,

5. Ensure that you have a driver to take you home after your procedure and that they are aware of our facility policies regarding drivers having to remain at our facility for the duration of your appointment. Failure to remain at QEC may result in your procedure being delayed until they return or being rescheduled for another day.
